40. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ತೆಂಕಣ ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ನೀರು ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳ ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಅರಸು ಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಸದೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಶ್ವಾಸವುಳ್ಳದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
