24. ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ವನ್ನೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯ ಭಂಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟರು.
