2. ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆ ಹೇಮಿನವಳಾದಂಥ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಜಾರತ್ವಮಾಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳಿದ್ದಳು.
