4. ಕರ್ತನು ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನಿಗೆ--ಜನರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಹಳ ವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರನ್ನು ಜಲದ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಯಾರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಬಹುದೆಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಹೇಳುವೆನೋ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಲಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರಬಾರದೆಂದು ಯಾವನ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವೆನೋ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಬಾರದು ಅಂದನು.
