8. ಆಗ ಜಕ್ಕಾಯನು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ಸೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಧವನ್ನು ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಯಾರಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ದೂರು ಹೇಳಿ ಏನಾದರೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಾಲ್ಕರಷ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
