24. ಪಿಲಾ ತನು ತನ್ನ ಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಗದ್ದಲವೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನೋಡಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಮೂಹದ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದು--ಈ ನೀತಿವಂತನ ರಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಿರಪರಾಧಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
