14. ദാവീദ് മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ദുര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളില് താമസിച്ചു. സീഫ് മരുഭൂമയിയിലെ മലനാട്ടില് പാര്ത്തു; ഇക്കാലത്തൊക്കെയും ശൌല് അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ദൈവം അവനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചില്ല.
