12. ഇതു നിമിത്തം പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് ശ്രമിച്ചു. യഹൂദന്മാരോനീ ഇവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചാല് കൈസരുടെ സ്നേഹിതന് അല്ല; തന്നെത്താന് രാജാവാക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം കൈസരോടു മത്സരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ആര്ത്തു പറഞ്ഞു.
