40. nam zijn staf in de hand, zocht zich vijf gladde stenen uit de beekbedding en deed ze in de herderstas, die hij bij zich had, in de tas voor de slingerstenen, maar zijn slinger hield hij in de hand. Zo naderde hij de Filistijn.
