25. Daarop zeide David tot de bode: Zo moet gij spreken tot Joab: Bekommer u hierover niet, want het zwaard verteert nu eens dezen, dan weer genen. Zet de strijd tegen de stad krachtig voort en verwoest haar. Bemoedig hem daarmee.
