21. Toen zeide Achitofel tot Absalom: Ga tot de bijvrouwen van uw vader, die hij achtergelaten heeft om toezicht te houden op het paleis. Als geheel Israël hoort, dat gij u bij uw vader in een kwade reuk gebracht hebt, dan zullen allen die met u zijn, moed vatten.
