40. Aldus sloeg Jozua het ganse land, het Gebergte, het Zuiderland, de Laagte en de hellingen, met al hun koningen; hij liet niemand ontkomen, maar hij sloeg al wat adem had met de ban, zoals de HERE, de God van Israël, geboden had.
