1. De Israëlieten vergrepen zich evenwel aan het gebannene, doordat Achan, de zoon van Karmi, de zoon van Zabdi, de zoon van Zerach, uit de stam Juda, iets wegnam van het gebannene. Toen ontbrandde de toorn des HEREN tegen de Israëlieten.
