17. Bij het zien van het leger dat op hen afkwam, zeiden Judas' soldaten tegen hem: 'Hoe kunnen wij met ons kleine aantal de strijd aanbinden met zo'n groot en sterk leger? Daar komt nog bij dat wij ons slap voelen omdat we vandaag nog niet gegeten hebben.'
