35. Toen Lysias zag dat zijn troepen in slagorde het dreigden te begeven, terwijl die van Judas zelfvertrouwen hadden gekregen en vastbesloten waren te leven of eervol te sterven, trok hij af en ging naar Antiochie terug. Hij wierf troepen aan om met een nog sterker leger opnieuw Judea binnen te vallen.
