60. Hij rukte op met een sterk leger en zond heimelijk brieven aan al zijn bondgenoten in Judea met het bevel om Jonatan en zijn aanhang gevangen te nemen. Daar slaagden ze evenwel niet in, omdat hun plan was uitgelekt.
