5. David begaf zich op weg en kwam bij de plaats waar Saul gelegerd was. David wist te achterhalen, waar Saul met Abner, de zoon van Ner, de legeroverste van Saul, gelegerd was: hij lag in het wagenkamp, terwijl het volk er in een kring omheen was gelegerd.
