1. David echter dacht bij zichzelf: ‘Vandaag of morgen val ik toch nog in de handen van Saul. Er zit voor mij niets anders op dan mijn toevlucht te zoeken in het land van de Filistijnen. Dan geeft Saul het wel op, nog langer heel het gebied van Israel naar mij af te zoeken; dan ben ik aan zijn greep ontkomen.’
