3. De aanvoerders van de Filistijnen vroegen: ‘Wat doen die Hebreeers hier?’ Akis antwoordde hun: ‘Dat is toch David, de hoveling van koning Saul van Israel, die al sinds jaar en dag bij mij is! Vanaf de dag dat hij overgelopen is tot op heden heb ik niets op hem aan te merken gehad.’
