11. Zij riepen dus alle stadsvorsten van de Filistijnen bijeen en zeiden: ‘Laat de ark van de God van Israel wegbrengen. Ze moet terug naar de plaats waar ze thuishoort; anders wordt ze de dood van ons en van ons volk.’ In de hele stad heerste inderdaad een dodelijke ontzetting; zwaar drukte de hand van God op de stad.
