13. Op grond daarvan werd hij door enige vrienden van de koning bij Eupator aangeklaagd; bovendien werd hij bij elke gelegenheid uitgemaakt voor een verrader, omdat hij het eiland Cyprus, dat hem door Filometor was toevertrouwd, verlaten had en naar Antiochus Epifanes was overgelopen. Hij slaagde er niet meer in zijn hoge waardigheid eervol uit te oefenen en maakte door vergif een einde aan zijn leven.
