27. Na de nederlaag en ondergang van deze vijanden trok Judas met zijn leger naar de versterkte stad Efron, waar Lysanias zijn residentie had. Een leger van sterke jonge kerels stond voor de muren opgesteld en weerde zich dapper, binnen de stad lag een grote voorraad oorlogswerktuigen en projectielen.
