2. Hij was namelijk een stad binnengedrongen, die Persepolis genoemd wordt, en had gepoogd de tempel te plunderen en de stad in zijn macht te krijgen. Maar het volk had naar de wapens gegrepen en was tot de aanval overgegaan. Antiochus werd teruggeslagen. Zo kwam het dat hij door de bewoners van die streek op de vlucht gedreven werd en roemloos de terugtocht moest aanvaarden.
