20. Ja, uw dienaar Joab heeft mij opdracht gegeven; hij heeft uw dienares dit verhaal in de mond gelegd; uw dienaar Joab heeft dit gedaan om onder dat mom de eigenlijke zaak ter sprake te brengen; maar mijn heer is zo wijs als een engel van God: hij weet alles wat er op aarde gebeurt.’
