17. Maar Abisai, de zoon van Seruja, kwam David te hulp en sloeg de Filistijn dood. De manschappen van David bezwoeren bij die gelegenheid hun koning: ‘U moet nooit meer met ons te strijd trekken! U moogt de lamp van Israel niet uitdoven!’
