21. Daarbij zei Abner tot David: ‘Nu ga ik alle Israelieten verzamelen en bij mijn heer en koning brengen; dan sluiten zij een verbond met u en wordt u koning over alles wat u hart verlangt.’ Toen liet David Abner gaan en deze vertrok ongehinderd.
