4. Sauls zoon Jonatan had een zoon met ongelukkige voeten. Toen uit Jizreel de tijding kwam over Saul en Jonathan - de jongen was toen vijf jaar - had zijn verzorgster hem opgenomen om te vluchten; in haar haast had ze hem laten vallen en zo was hij kreupel geworden. Hij heette Mefiboset.
