2. Hij bad tot Jahwe: ‘Ach Jahwe, had ik het niet gedacht, toen ik nog in mijn land was! Daarom ben ik ook aanstonds maar naar Tarsis gevlucht! Ik wist immers, dat Gij een medelijdende en barmhartige God zijt, lankmoedig en rijk aan liefde, altijd geneigd om spijt te krijgen over aangezegd onheil.
