8. Bovendien zond God, zodra de zon was opgekomen, een verzengende oostenwind, en de zon stak zo hevig op Jona’s hoofd, dat hij uitgeput neerzonk. Hij verlangde te sterven en zei: ‘De dood is mij liever dan het leven.’
