10. De priesters, die de ark van het verbond droegen, bleven midden in de Jordaan staan, tot alles ten uitvoer was gebracht wat Jozua, in opdracht van Jahwe en krachtens zijn aanstelling door Mozes, aan het volk had bevolen. Het volk trok haastig naar de overkant.
