8. De Israelieten deden wat Jozua hun opdroeg. Zoals Jahwe aan Jozua had opgedragen, haalden zij, naar het aantal van de stammen van Israel, twaalf stenen uit het midden van de Jordaan, brachten die naar het kamp en legden ze daar neer.
