23. Wee u, schriftgeleerden en Farizeeen, huichelaars! Gij betaalt wel tienden van munt, anijs en komijn, maar het gewichtigste van de Wet: rechtvaardigheid, barmhartigheid en trouw verwaarloost ge. Het ene moet men doen en het andere niet nalaten.
