3. De aanvoerders van de Filistijnen vroegen: `Wat doen die Hebreeën hier?' Akis antwoordde hun: `Dat is toch David, de hoveling van koning Saul van Israël, die al sinds jaar en dag bij mij is! Vanaf de dag dat hij overgelopen is, tot op de dag van vandaag, heb ik niets op hem aan te merken gehad.'
