24. Toen diende de kok het schenkelstuk op en zette dat voor aan Saul. Samuël zei: `Wat men u heeft voorgezet is het uitgelezen stuk; eet ervan, want voor u werd het bewaard en dat was al mijn bedoeling toen ik het volk uitnodigde voor dit feest.' Zo at Saul die dag met Samuël.
