21. Toen stuurde Neko gezanten naar hem toe met de boodschap: `Wat hebben wij met elkaar te maken, koning van Juda? Deze veldtocht is niet gericht tegen u, maar tegen het koningshuis waarmee ik in oorlog ben, en God heeft mij gezegd dat ik mij haasten moet. Verzet u niet tegen God, die mij bijstaat; anders stort Hij u in het verderf.'
