13. Op grond daarvan werd hij door enkele vrienden van de koning bij Eupator aangeklaagd; bovendien werd hij bij elke gelegenheid uitgemaakt voor verrader, omdat hij het eiland Cyprus, dat hem door Filometor was toevertrouwd, verlaten had en naar Antiochus Epifanes was overgelopen. Hij slaagde er niet meer in om naast macht, ook respect te genieten en maakte door vergif een einde aan zijn leven.
