32. Absalom antwoordde Joab: `Hoor eens, ik heb u laten vragen bij mij te komen. Ik wilde u namelijk naar de koning sturen om hem te vragen waarom ik eigenlijk uit Gesur teruggekomen ben. Ik had er beter kunnen blijven. En nu wil ik de koning zien en als ik schuldig ben, moet hij me maar doden.'
