4. Sauls zoon Jonatan had een zoon die verlamd was aan beide voeten. De jongen was vijf jaar toen uit Jizreël het bericht kwam over Saul en Jonatan. Zijn verzorgster had hem opgenomen om met hem te vluchten, maar in haar haast had ze hem laten vallen en zo was hij kreupel geworden. Hij heette Mefiboset.
