28. Ook Makkeda heeft Jozua op die dag ingenomen. Hij joeg stad en koning over de kling, wijdde hen en alle levende wezens in de stad aan de vernietiging en liet niemand ontkomen. De koning van Makkeda behandelde hij op dezelfde wijze als de koning van Jericho.
