6. Toen stuurden de inwoners van Gibeon een boodschap naar Jozua in het kamp bij Gilgal: `Laat uw dienaren niet in de steek! Kom met spoed naar ons toe en bevrijd ons. Help ons, want de Amoritische koningen van het bergland zijn gezamenlijk tegen ons opgerukt.'
