10. Bij deze koop is Ruth ingesloten, de Moabitische, de weduwe van Machlon: ik neem haar als vrouw, om de naam van de overledene op zijn familiebezit te laten voortbestaan, zodat die naam niet verdwijnt uit zijn familie en uit de poort van zijn stad. Hiermee bent u getuige.'
