3. I det åttende år av sin regjering, da han ennu var en ungdom, begynte han å søke Davids, sin fars Gud, og i det tolvte år begynte han å rense Juda og Jerusalem for offerhaugene og Astarte-billedene og de utskårne og støpte billeder.
