4. Men hovdingane vart vonde på han og sa til han: Send mannen attende! Lat han fara heim att til den bygdi du hev gjeve han til bustad! Han skal ikkje draga med oss ut i striden; han kunde gjerne venda seg mot oss midt i slaget. For korleis kunde han lettare få koma seg inn att hjå herren sin enn med hovudi av hermennene våre?
