40. Soleis tok Josva heile landet, både fjellbygdene og sudlandet og låglandet og lidene, og slo i hel alle kongane som budde der; han let ingen vera att eller sleppa undan, men bannstøytte kvart levande liv, so som Herren, Israels Gud, hadde sagt han fyre.
