24. आफ्नो केही सीप नलागेको र त्यसको सट्टामा झन् कोलाहल मच्चिएको देखेर पिलातसले पानी लिएर भीडका सामु यसो भन्दै आफ्नो हात धोए : ‘‘म यस धर्मी मानिसको रगतदेखि निर्दोष छु, तिमीहरू आफै जान।’’
