21. Machabeusz widząc masy stojącego wojska, różnorodną broń i dziki wygląd bestii, wyciągnął ręce do nieba i wzywał Pana, który czyni cuda. Wiedział bowiem, że przygotowuje On zwycięstwo wedle zasługi, nie dzięki broni, ale jak się Jemu będzie wydawało słuszne.
