26. Ora, neste caso, seria necessário que ele tivesse sofrido muitas vezes desde a fundação do mundo; agora, porém, ao se cumprirem os tempos, se manifestou uma vez por todas, para aniquilar, pelo sacrifício de si mesmo, o pecado.
