39. Quando David soube da morte de Nabal, exclamou: "Dou graças a Deus que tirou vingança da ofensa que me fez Nabal! Assim, impediu-me de fazer o mal, e fez que a maldade de Nabal recaísse sobre ele mesmo!" David enviou depois a Abigail uma proposta de casamento.
