16. Por isso, cumpre também agora a outra promessa que fizeste a meu pai, David, teu servo. Prometeste-lhe que haveria sempre um herdeiro seu a reinar em Israel, contanto que os seus descendentes observassem fielmente a lei do Senhor como David o fez.
