2. Levantava-se muito cedo e colocava-se à beira do caminho que dava para a entrada da cidade. Sempre que passava um homem que ia ter com o rei por causa de qualquer processo de justiça Absalão mandava-o parar e perguntava-lhe: "De onde és tu?" Ele respondia: "Sou de tal tribo de Israel, meu senhor!"
